Diane has spent the last couple of weeks working on her most ambitious painting yet. The Five Sisters incorporates much of what she has learned during the creation of her Dinghies, Skiffs and Canoes series of acrylic paintings. The three feet by four feet canvas promotes a sense of peace and tranquility while incorporating her trademark water effects. I look forward to the debates among the actual five sisters in Diane’s life (Kate, Betty, Hilary, Joyce and Diane) about the individual naming rights for the skiffs.

I LOVE IT!!!! “Five Sisters” is a masterpiece Diane!!! Your paint brush has captured the essence of light, reflection, movement and depth, as it relates to water, in such a magnificent way!
Here is my interpretation of the naming rights: Diane and Kate (big sister leading the way with little sister); Joyce in the protective lead with Hilary and then Betty.
Can’t wait to see the real thing – it’s tiny on my notebook screen, but is truly a beauty. I sense a certain comradery in the three aligned boats (me and my sistas); we’re following your lead – as it should be on the water! Congratulations on this most recent work, Diane – you are a most talented lady.
