Creative Use of Original Art in Home Staging

Graham and I spent most of the month of August fixing up and then staging a house in Collingwood in preparation for selling it. One of the most enjoyable parts of the project came from our decision to stage the house almost exclusively with my art. The house was empty when we began so, figuratively speaking, we had a “blank canvas” to work with. The house was in a community on Georgian Bay so a marine theme was a natural choice, accented with a few other styles and mediums. We cobbled together a mix of furniture from various sources to match with the art, all of which came together remarkably well. Below is an image of the living room with 9 of the 20 or more paintings and sculptures which we used in view.

The staging was apparently successful as we sold the home within two weeks at 99.5% of our full asking price.
